Websites for handymen

Somebody looking for a handyman has a list: a door that sticks, a shelf to put up, a dripping tap, a fence panel down. They want to know you’ll do the lot in one visit.

Small jobs welcome

Plenty of trades won’t come out for a single shelf. If you will, your website should say so plainly, because that’s exactly what the person reading wants to hear.

The builder ticks a handyman’s usual jobs first, flat pack assembly, shelving and mounting, door adjustments, small plumbing jobs, painting touch-ups and garden odd jobs. Fence repairs, blinds, sealant and guttering are there too.

What you won’t touch

A handyman is asked about everything, including work that belongs to an electrician or a gas engineer. There’s a question for the jobs you’d rather turn down, and we keep them off your website.

That way the calls you get are for things you actually do, and nobody is surprised when you say it needs somebody else.

Show the odd jobs too

A wardrobe built from a box, a curtain pole fitted level, a gate that shuts again. Small jobs still make good photos, and they show the range of what you take on.

Send a few from your phone with a note each, and we write them up as your past jobs. Until then, the pictures on your services are ours, marked that way in your editor.

Your jobs, ticked for you

Step three of the builder starts handymen with these. Keep them, untick them, or add your own.

The handyman we made up

To show the shape of one, we made up Cupples Home Repairs, in Lisburn, and built its website with our own builder. Its past jobs:

  • Sticking bedroom door eased, Dunmurry
  • Bath resealed, Lisburn

Questions

Can I say I charge by the job rather than the hour?
Yes. Write it in your own words beside any service, and it goes on as you wrote it. We never put a price on your website you didn’t give us.
What if somebody rings while I’m up a ladder?
Your website has an enquiry form as well as your number, so people can leave the job and their details. The message lands in your email for when you’re back down.

How it works

Three simple steps
  1. 01

    Tell us about your business

Your trade, your town, the jobs you take on. Rough answers are fine: we do the writing.

  2. 02

    We write and build it

A website written from your answers and nothing else, laid out in one of our designs, that reads right on a phone. No logo? We’ll draw you one from your business name.

  3. 03

    You look, change, decide

Change anything, in your own words. Nothing goes live until you subscribe.
