What’s new
What changed in TradeEasy, version by version, newest first.
The logo we draw, on tradeeasy.uk
There’s now a section on tradeeasy.uk about your logo. If you haven’t got one, we’ll draw you a logo from your business name, in your website’s colours, and it lands at the top of your website while you look round. The quote lists “A logo, drawn for you” as included, and How it works says “No logo? We’ll draw you one from your business name.”
The Christopher Charles Lofts case study now shows the day it went live.
TradeEasy has a blog
There’s now a blog at tradeeasy.uk/blog, written by Sean, who runs TradeEasy. The articles are listed newest first, and the newest also show on tradeeasy.uk, under From the blog.
The first article is about the three rules every TradeEasy website is held to, and why.
Our first case study is up. It shows the website Christopher Charles Lofts had, and the TradeEasy website it has now, at its own address.
You can ask for new articles by email: leave your address in the box on the blog. We send an email to say you’re on the list, with a button to unsubscribe.
Your own domain comes with Get online. Once you subscribe, you can connect a domain name you already own, like yourname.co.uk, from your account page, so people find your website at your own address.
A logo of your own
When we build your website, we now draw you a logo from your business name, in your colour. It sits at the top of your website, where your name is.
Already have a logo? Upload it on the builder and we use that instead. Would rather have none? Say so and we leave it out.
The drawn logo stays small until you subscribe. Subscribers see the other mark we drew, can pick either one, and can have another go.
What’s changed since launch
This page is new. It says what changed in TradeEasy, version by version, newest first, in plain words. If you want to know what’s different since you last looked, this is the place.
Try another look. In design mode there’s a new button beside your colour. Each press shows your website in another look of the same colour, and the look you’re seeing is marked, so you can go round until one fits. Nothing changes on your website until you choose it.
The builder now shows its four steps as you go, and your email address is the last thing we ask for.
On an iPhone, the strip above your website takes your website’s colour instead of staying white.
Support access, on your word. When you ask us to change something for you, we can open the hour only once you’ve said yes and we’ve written it down. You get an email when the hour opens and another when it closes, and we publish inside it only if you said the changes can go live. Inside that hour we can also connect or remove your own domain for you.
A picture you asked us to make now finishes even if you close the page, and the editor tells you that you can leave; when it lands it takes the place of the stock photo it replaces.
Fixed: the example websites on our own site scroll again after you pick a colour.
What TradeEasy does today
This is where the changelog starts: what TradeEasy does for a tradesperson today.
You see your website before you pay anything. Answer a few questions about your business, and TradeEasy writes your website and shows it to you straight away. You don’t need an account to look.
To keep it, make an account. You sign in with a link sent to your email. When you’re happy, subscribe, and your website goes live at its own address on tradeeasy.uk.
Once it’s yours, you can:
- Change the words, the photos, your past jobs and the places you work
- Ask for a change in your own words, and check it before it goes on
- Add a job from a photo: the AI writes it up, and you check it
- Add your logo, and links to your social media pages
- Try other designs on your preview
- Change your business name or your trade
- Read the enquiries your website gets
- See how many people visited your website
Nothing changes on your live website until you press Publish. The AI never publishes anything itself.
The AI is told never to make things up about your business: no years in business, qualifications, reviews or prices you didn’t give it.
Visitors to your website can send you an enquiry with photos of the job, and press any photo to see it bigger.
Already have a website? TradeEasy can build your new one for you from it, as a paid service.
Stuck? The help page answers the usual questions, and you can email for help from there.
