Websites for bricklayers
Some of your work comes from homeowners and some from builders who need a pair of hands on an extension. Your website has to make sense to both.

Good brickwork is in the joints
Anybody can say they do garden walls. A photo of a straight course with clean, even joints, or a run of repointing that matches the old mortar, says it for you.
Snap the wall when it’s finished and the site’s been swept. Give it a past job of its own and a few words, and we write it up. A boundary wall in one town, a chimney rebuild in another.
Homeowners and builders read it differently
A homeowner wants to know if you’ll do a small job like theirs, near them. A builder looking for a bricklayer wants to see you can keep up on an extension or a new build.
So write each past job’s line for whoever you want ringing, a garden wall for a family or a run of facing brick for a contractor. Your own lines go on exactly as you wrote them.
From repointing to arches
The builder ticks a bricklayer’s usual jobs to start you off, garden walls, repointing and blockwork among them. Further down there’s retaining walls, piers, stonework and arches.
Keep what you do, untick what you don’t, and add anything the list missed. If there’s work you’d rather not be asked about, it stays off your website.

Step three of the builder starts bricklayers with these. Keep them, untick them, or add your own.

The bricklayer we made up
To show the shape of one, we made up Haslock Brickwork, in Sutton Coldfield, and built its website with our own builder. Its past jobs:
- Garden wall along a border, Boldmere
- Side wall repointed, Four Oaks
- Brick piers at a drive, Walmley
- Frost-damaged bricks replaced, Erdington
- Chimney stack rebuilt, Sutton Coldfield
Questions
- I haven’t got many photos. Is that a problem?
- No. Each service borrows a stock picture of a wall like it until you swap in yours, and your editor tells you which is which. Past jobs show nothing but your photos.
- Can I see it before I pay anything?
- Yes. Answer the questions and your website is there to read straight away, with no card and no account. You pay only when you put it on the internet.
