A website, a Checkatrade profile, or both?
They do different jobs. A Checkatrade profile is a page about you on Checkatrade’s website. A website is a page of your own, at your own address, that you send people to.
We make TradeEasy, so we’re one side of this. Every fact about Checkatrade below is from its own pages, with a link and the day we read it.
What Checkatrade says
You choose your trade, the postcode areas you cover and how many leads you want a year, and pay a monthly cost for them.
Before your leads start, you do an ID, address and documentation check.
Its plans are “tailored to your postcode and trade”. The page shows no price, so we haven’t quoted one.
Its fixed plan memberships are for 12 months.
Customers can call you, ask for a quote or book you from your profile.
What a TradeEasy website is
- A website about your business alone, at yourname.tradeeasy.uk, to put on your van, your quotes and your cards.
- It’s written from your answers about your trade in a few minutes, and nothing on it is made up.
- Every enquiry from it comes to your email inbox, and waits for you when you sign in.
- You can cancel any month. There’s no contract.
Free to look. £19 a month to go live, for six months, then £29.
Which one, then?
- You want work through Checkatrade.
- That’s what a membership is for. A website of your own won’t put you on Checkatrade.
- People already have your name.
- From your van, a card or a neighbour. A website gives them somewhere to see your work and the areas you cover, and to ask you for a quote.
- Both of those.
- Then have both. They do different jobs, so one doesn’t do the other’s.
Have a look before you decide.
